The 2008 Lyons Outdoor Games were held over the last weekend in May with stellar weather, fun events and good times for spectators and athletes.

We captured some of the sights and sounds and compiled an online video page created with Adobe Flash CS3. The videos showcase the action of the Creek Race, Dirt Jump, Ripstoke Bike Trials and Freestyle events.

The video was produced to promote the event and distribute content to a wider audience that could not physically attend the event.

The Colorado BioScience Association is putting on a series of 6 presentations around Colorado highlighting the work of Discovery Grant Program recipients. The first group presented on May 5th in Aurora, CO and included Dr. Douglas Graham, Dr. Karen Stevens, Dr. Kay Holmes, Dr. Leland Shapiro, Dr. Stephen Hunsucker and Dr. Steve Anderson.

OnSight Media is contracted to provide video services for each of these presentations, which will be used to broadcast to schools and individuals interested in this content. The May 5th video presentations can be found here:

May 5th, 2008 Discovery Grant Program

We created an interactive online video series showcasing the 2008 Douglass Elementary Jog-A-Thon. The event raises money for Douglass Elementary students literacy program.

The work flow consisted of filming the event and editing 4 video segments that included a highlight of the event sponsors, converting the final videos to Flash .flv format, and finally using Adobe Flash to create the television graphic and interactive buttons that launch each video. A DVD copy was also made to show to the students prior to the end of the school year.

On April 17th, 2008 author Richard Brenne assembled a panel to discuss the seriousness of climate change. The panel consisted of NCAR Social Scientist and IPCC Author Dr. Patricia Romero Lankao, CU Atmospheric Science Department Chair Dr. Brian Toon and NCAR Senior Scientist and IPCC Report Lead Author Dr. Kevin Trenberth.

We recorded the event, which consisted of a single camera and an audio patch into the room sound system. The video content was edited and published into segments that address a single question or topic. The video content was also uploaded to Current TV to reach a relevant audience.

FINAL COMMENTS

The Colorado BioScience Association held its annual member meeting on April 29th. OnSight Media was contracted to record the guest speaker - Duane J. Roth of CONNECT. The presentation was 1 hour long and included PowerPoint slides.

We took the PowerPoint presentation and added the slides into the final video segments. All video content was converted to Flash and incorporated into an interactive online piece showcasing the entire presentation broken into 5 parts.

We returned from the 7 stage Tour de Georgia having produced and delivered over 75 videos on VeloNews TV of behind the scenes action from the race. The project and trip were successful with highlights being the start off the coast of Tybee Island, the Team Time Trial at Road Atlanta, and of course the decisive stage up Brasstown Bald.

The 60th Annual Conference on World Affairs was held  April 7th through the 11th on the University of Colorado campus. We worked with Tapes Again to provide audio recordings of roughly 400 individual panels.

The project required a coordinated effort between 5 individuals to setup audio recorders in rooms around campus, retrieve finished sessions, dump the audio to a computer for editing and then burn CD’s for immediate sale. MP3 downloads will be available at a later date and we will update this post when the links are available. The University recorded video for select panels and provided a master DVD for duplication.
